Weekend Non-Residential Retreat

Registration is now closed.

The Buddha invites us to ‘Live in Joy’, touching its source in our own hearts. Mindfulness allows us to clearly see subtle joys and how to cultivate them, even in challenging times: joy sustains the heart and leads to liberation. This retreat will touch reliable kinds of joy that are accessible in every moment, open our eyes to unexpected sources of joy, and explore the role joy plays in awakening.

This retreat is suitable for early and experienced meditators.

Why go on a retreat? Retreats are a vital part of practice that help cultivate our skill in meditation and offer conditions for developing stillness, awareness and insight (and joy!) that ripple through our day-to-day lives long after the retreat is over. This silent meditation retreat will include sitting and walking meditation periods, teacher talks and instruction and Q&A sessions. Join us for this special event!

Jeanne Corrigal is the guiding teacher at Saskatoon Insight Meditation Community and a graduate of Insight Meditation Society’s four-year teacher training program, trained by Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, and other international teachers. Jeanne is Metis and was mentored early in her practice by Cree Elder, Jim Settee. She is certified in Indigenous Focusing Trauma Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and is a Life Skills Coach Trainer. We are delighted to welcome her to Calgary once again to lead this retreat!
